Most of BC’s centers of activity have access to internet at a substantial cost. Other than during actual searches it is unlikely that internet will be available.
With that in mind, paper forms will continue to be required here. Having said that, the current forms are not very efficient at gathering the info required for CMS so I would like to see new forms that follow the CMS entry formats generated.
I would also like to see those forms usable on a computer with no internet access so upload to CMS would be more efficient.
I think the form proposed by NB is very usable. I would like to see provisions for the following, though:
Three levels of organization; Organization, Zone, Area(other?)
A section for ground school similar to the SAREX section,
The ability to enter in eccess of 45 volunteers and up to ten aircraft (might have to go to several of the single aircraft forms),
A space to enter those who attended a flying exercise who did not crew an aircraft or SHQ, folks like those who do the catering, operate the radio, etc.
Perhaps a space for Ground School and multiples of the form to cover each aircraft for each flight?
